Q: What about this movie you have coming up--3,000 Miles to Graceland? Word is your costar Kurt Russell didn't like the finished cut and decided to make his own version.

KC: What you have is a great little movie by a first-time director [Demian Lichtenstein] and a star who felt like it could be better. The director owed the actor the chance to go ahead and try. But it wasn't as good as what the director was trying to do. The director's cut was better than what the star wanted. It's that simple. But that happens all the time.

Q: There's a report that you even turned in your own cut.

KC: I didn't. I thought the director was very generous to let Kurt have a try. And when you have a try, the numbers come back. Since people are making movies based on numbers...I always make them by the seat of my pants, but if you're going to do it by numbers, what happened was that the numbers weren't even close.

Q: Is the movie as violent as people say?

KC: It is really violent, but it's really fun, too. It's going to surprise people, because I'm not known for making that kind of movie.
