Elvis had a very special relationship with Las Vegas.
Not only did he perform there, he went there for relaxation.
Obviously during the 70’s, Elvis was a major headliner in Vegas. The movie ELVIS: THAT’S THE WAY IT IS shows him mounting his Vegas stage show at the International.
But as early as the Million Dollar Quartet, Elvis talks about being in Las Vegas to see other acts (he raves about seeing Ward’s Dominoes singer Jackie Wilson).
Vegas is also the setting of one of his best post-Army pictures – VIVA LAS VEGAS.
And of course Vegas is where he and Priscilla finally got married – at the Aladdin in an event organized by Col. Parker (they later had a reception in Memphis).
Now of course people get married in Las Vegas by Elvis impersonators. And impersonators perform in Legends shows.
HONEYMOON IN VEGAS introduced the world to the FLYING ELVI, who do still perform. And don't forget 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND in which Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell are disguised as Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas.
In Vegas, Elvis lives.
